Paradise Coast Sports Complex

This multi-million dollar sports complex is extremely impressive, but you wouldn’t have known it from the welcome center. It was drab, white office space with plastic tables setup as a makeshift conference room. But this was the entry point through which young athletes would arrive and register for major events, and our job was to make those kids feel like champions.

Design Renderings

We aimed to transform the space in a way that was both affordable and functional. This meant making the highest impact for the player with colors, textures and props, while also retaining functionality as a makeshift meeting space. The thing I’m most proud of are the clever way we married these two contrasting goals.

A portable wall made out of turf from the fields both serves as a photo opportunity for the excited players and as a way to hide the table storage beneath the stairs. A wall of famous sports quotes behind the televisions serves as inspiration to the players as well as the business people attending meetings. The silhouetted palm trees on the glass of wall of the gift-shop hides outside distractions and reminds players that they are playing in “paradise.”
